Lisnamult Sport & Activity Hub

In 2023, Roscommon Sports Partnership received funding from Sport Ireland through Dormant Accounts to develop a Community Sports Hub in Roscommon Town. The aim of the Sports Hub is to develop a location in Roscommon Town where the local community has access to a dedicated sports and activity facility. Its focus is to increase physical activity participation across all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, through the provision of physical activity programmes, education and training.

The community sports hub initiative aims to create opportunities to engage people in sporting activities and maximize the usage of the current facilities in Roscommon Community Sports Park. The hub will focus on developing and strengthening links with local schools, community, sports clubs, and other physical activity groups which will enhance the quality and accessibility of the facilities available.

Roscommon Community Sports Park

The hub currently comprises of an astroturf and multiple grass pitches which are used by local schools, local sporting teams, and various organisations for PE and training purposes.

The multi-purpose building comprises of four dressing rooms, a kitchenette facility, and large meeting rooms. The venue holds various events, meetings, trainings, for the local community throughout the year.

We are proud to have the first wheelchair-accessible Changing Places facility in Roscommon. It’s designed to enhance the health, safety, comfort, and dignity of someone who may need extra support and additional equipment during personal care.

The Changing Places facility goes beyond a conventional wheelchair-accessible toilet in that it includes additional assistive technology of a hoist, a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench, a height adjustable basin and toilet.
