Roscommon Sports Partnership provides youth leadership training which aims to support & develop youth participants skills, confidence, and leadership in a supportive environment.
Sports Leadership Award
The Level 1 Qualification Sports Leadership course (suited to transition year students) targets young people, aged 12+. The qualifications are designed to use sport and physical activity to help young people develop and hone their leadership skills whilst helping themselves and others stay physically active.
Sports Leadership is a 3-day (18 hrs) leadership programme provided to schools, clubs, and youth groups. The Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership is a practical award in which learners must demonstrate their ability to lead others in simple sport/activity. Participants learn the skills such as communication, teamwork, problem solving and the preparation and planning of activities to help them develop, lead, and evaluate their own activity. It has a multi-sport practical approach where learners are introduced to a wide variety of generic and sport specific games to ensure a fun, practical learning experience.
The Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership is a practical qualification in which learners must demonstrate their ability to lead others in simple sport/activity. On completion each participant receives the Sport Leadership Award.
