Roscommon Sports Partnership, in collaboration with Roscommon County Library and the Healthy Ireland at Your Library initiative, is delighted to announce a new venture aimed at promoting health and active living through the introduction of a Certification Card for the use of Activator Poles. This wallet sized card, awarded to participants who successfully complete the Activator Poles Programme, will enable cardholders to borrow Activator Poles from their local library branch, empowering them to enjoy the many health benefits of these innovative fitness tools independently.
Activator Poles are uniquely designed to enhance balance, stability, and core strength, making them ideal for individuals of all ages, including those managing chronic conditions or recovering from injury. Used extensively in Rehabilitation and Active Age programmes, Activator Poles are known to improve posture, reduce joint impact, and increase mobility. Studies have shown that Activator Pole walking can help prevent falls, reduce pain, and provide a safe, effective means of strengthening muscles and bones—key components of a healthier, more active lifestyle.
As part of this new initiative, individuals who complete Roscommon Sports Partnership’s Activator Poles Programme will receive an official Certification Card. This card enables participants to borrow Activator poles at their convenience from Roscommon County Library branches, ensuring they can continue benefiting from the programme on their own time and at their own pace. The poles are available exclusively to those who present the Certification Card, ensuring responsible use and safety for all.
