Phase 2 of Sports Energy Support Scheme Now Open

Funding opportunity for Community Sports Facilities not yet supported in government energy funding schemes

In 2022, the Government provided an additional investment of €35 million to support sporting organisations with the rising energy costs associated with the provision of sport e.g., indoor activity in winter, the provision of outdoor floodlighting etc. To date €19m has been distributed to Sport Ireland Recognised National Governing Bodies of Sport.

Phase 2 of the above scheme will target community owned sports facilities which do not currently qualify for TBESS or other Government support schemes through DRCD, Local Authorities etc. Roscommon Sports Partnership are now seeking expressions of interest from facilities that qualify under this phase. Clubs or facilities affiliated to Sport Ireland recognised National Governing Bodies ie GAA, FAI, IRFU etc should access support directly through their NGB. They are not eligible through this scheme.

General cost of living increases such as rising costs in accommodation, rent, rates or labour costs are not eligible. Fuel costs associated with machinery, vehicles, travel or transport do not qualify.

We ask that you Read the Full Eligibility details and on review of eligibility to complete the expression of interest form here

Closing date for expressions of interest is 5pm Wednesday 24th May. For queries etc please contact Roscommon Sports Partnership at 09066 30853 or email info@rosactive.org
