Connecting with Roscommon’s Men’s ShedsRoscommon Sports Partnership was pleased to join Men’s Shed members from across the county and representatives of the Irish Men’s Sheds Association for a gathering at St Brigid’s GAA Club, Kiltoom. Our Sports Inclusion Disability Officer, Damien Martin, spoke about the benefits of getting active and RSP’s collaboration with local Men’s Sheds to provide opportunities for physical activity, social connection and wellbeing.Over the years, this work has included chair yoga, group walks, Activator Pole sessions, tutor-led activity programmes and helping members to get active and enjoy time together.Men’s Sheds play a valuable role in our communities, creating spaces where members can share skills, build friendships and enjoy a sense of purpose and belonging. The meeting was also an opportunity to hear about the achievements and challenges of local sheds, including the importance of retaining spaces for their activities. RSP recognises the considerable time, effort and dedication involved in establishing and maintaining a shed while navigating these obstacles.Thank you to the organisers, St Brigid’s GAA Club and all the members who shared their experiences. We look forward to continuing our work with Men’s Sheds across Roscommon and supporting opportunities to get active together.#KeepingRoscommonActive Ballaghaderreen Mens Shed Castlerea Mens Shed Cloonfad Men's Shed St Brigid's GAA Club Irish Men's Sheds Association Sport Ireland ...
